Time Units

In the passing of one month of game time there will be 10 Time Units. The use of Time Units must be reported to plot via email to cobaltnightmares@onlineeff​ects.net please use Cobalt Nightmares in the subject line. You can enter use of Time Units prior to there acureinse, in fact this is the preferred method. When sending in your Time Unit requests please send a in game description of what your character is doing to achieve this use of time. Your description of the events can and often will effect how much time and resources are utilized in your endeavors. The expenditure of in game resources such as Gold, Information, Influence, and favors are all viable ways to influence Time Unit expenditure. Do note that a time unit is not a incitement of time but a measure of it’s use. Plot will monitor the use of Time Units and we will be tracking it’s use on your character sheets.

Gathering information = 0 – 5+ time units
This is a choice of the charter doing the gathering, which can reflect quality and quantity of the information gained. The results of this use of time may also be modified by the use of in game information and bribes, be creative. Use of time in this way can also be used to request aid from in game contacts.

Researching a Lore = 5 – 10+ Time units
The use of time in this manner represents the searching for knowledge in game. The variable in time units reflects not all knowledge is as easy to acquire as others. Locations that the research is being preformed as well as resources at your disposal are factors to be considered.

Researching a Spell = 5 – 10+ Time units
The use of time in this manner represents the design and practice of perfecting your magical arts in game. The variable in time units reflects the complexly of the spell being researched. Locations that the research is being preformed as well as resources at your disposal are factors to be considered.

Researching a Crafting Recipe = 5 – 10+ Time units
The use of time in this manner represents the design of items using your Craft in game. The variable in time units reflects the complexly of the Items being researched. Locations that the research is being preformed as well as resources at your disposal are factors to be considered.

Gathering of Raw Materials = 5 Time unit per Gathering skill used
using a time unit in this way will result in the gathering of one of the flowing choices.
Materials my be requested by name however not all materials my be available in all places in the world
0 – 5 Units of a rare Material
5 Units of the highest quality you are skilled enough to gather
10 units one quality level bellow your skill level
15 units two quality levels bellow your skill level
20 units three quality levels bellow your skill level
25 units four quality levels bellow your skill level
30 units five quality levels bellow your skill level
0 – 5 units of quality 1 if trying to gather with no skill
Spending consecutive time units gathering the same material will add a bonus of +5 cumulative for a max of +10. The bonus resets back to 0 on the third consecutive use.

Crafting = 1 time unit per five items crafted.
This will designate the time being spent on the crafting of items. Location that the crafting is being preformed as well as resources at your disposal are factors to be considered.

Pioneering new fields of Research = ?
It is possible to develop new techniques of your own devising by spending Time Units. This can be pursued in fields of expertise like Combat, Spell casting, Crafting, and much more. If you wish to pursue this path you must first send plot a summary of your idea if it is approved plot will need a full writeup.
